Last week in Ben’s Guessing Game these three images totally defeated everybody! Nobody could get the link! However, this is the day that I reveal all!
The images are all animals that were the last of their kind and , more importantly, had names. The bird was a passenger pigeon called Martha, the turtle was a Giant Turtle called Lonesome George (You might have heard about him), and the wolf/dog thing was a Tasmanian Tiger called Benjamin.
Lonesome George was a Pinta Turtle that lived all on his own on Pinta Island in the Galapagos islands. He died very recently. Martha was a passenger pigeon, a bird that became extinct because people were shooting it, and Benjamin was a marsupial mammal who became extinct because it was left out in the cold. All three were the last of their kind.
An extinct animal I forgot to include was Qi Qi, a baiji ( a dolphin which lived in rivers). They became extinct in 2002.
Keep a look out for week 3 of Ben’s Guessing Game ( and this time I’ll make it SLIGHTLY easier.)
